FTR, it's snowy in Varmland, but is currently +4 rather than +2 where the rally takes place currently.
#Lappi is on maximum attack. Not a bad time though with a *stall*! I hope that he'll fight for 1st.
Ooph, it must suck for Piere-Louis. A privateer beating him at a split. I think that Bertelli will still have a worse time overall, but that's a bit embarassing for a #WRC driver.
That said, it's an absolute testament to how good privateers are! Great time in the end.
This rally is so good. Ott is on top with a slower car, the snow specialist Taka is fighting! Glorious stages. Makes me want to move to #Umea, so pretty it is.
Watching stage 9. The stage is snow-powder gravel with ruts in most of places, getting worse and worse and worse with every car. Harder and harder to drive the later you are in the car order.
But guess what...
So you know how it seems like #Ford has a shitty top speed compared to the other two manufacturers?
Can't watch stage 11 for some reason but ok.
Gah, should've woken up with the alarm, it seemed to have been interesting, given that Tänak won back 2.7 seconds there!
Most likely, Craig will retain first, assuming he'll keep up with Ott's blazing last section.
Is this where it happens? Ott shows insane pace. Let's see what Craig has in store.
I'm rooting for Tanak, obviously, but I hope that Craig won't crumble under pressure and will always keep it on the road. We watch racing for racing, not for "drama"!
He has two new tires and seems like #Pirelli delaminated on a straight... With two new tires... What.
Ott saved it so well!
@jonn and yet they keep doing petrol-fueled motorsports
@pettter absolutely annoying. You know what's the biggest fear preventing them from switching to full electric, right? "The sound". Honestly, so annoying. But at least for these five years we have already hybrid #WRC cars and there's also a very crappily-advertised #ExtremeE with pretty horrible coverage, etc.
That said, there's nothing moral or ethical in any sports committee or political organisation whatsoever. Sadly, it's all about pragmaticism. The only reason #WRC is going for full electric in 5 years (to my understanding) is that the governments finally squeeze manufacturers to make electric cars exclusively, and then the manufacturers are squeezing #FIA to provide them with a way to advertise their cars at the highest level 🤷
When I hear stuff like "that's why we moved further to the north to have snow" from #WRC commentators I get very upset. Truth hurts, but there's nothing joyful about it. We need to always remember why. #ClimateChange.
