On this week's episode of @fossandcrafts we talk about the *many* craft projects involved in converting this old cargo van into a camper!

View from the rear: the futon has space under it for storage, on the opposite wall there's a shelving unit, and on the floor you can see our our supply! 2/10

Basically the same view, but with the portable solar panel to charge the power supply in there. The ceiling has 1" foam insulation panels in cotton slip covers with magnets so they can be removed. 3/10

I custom built the cabinet to fit. For shorter trips, we just use the dowel rods to keep everything in place. For longer trips we add the cargo nets to be safe. The cargo strap holds the shelf upright. 4/10

I built the shelves to fit the bins (seen on the first and third shelves) but on this trip we swapped in some smaller bags because we knew we'd be staying in a hotel and with family for a good chunk of the trip. 5/10

View from the side door. You can see the suitcases under the bed. The cabinet we use for the kitchen uses a dowel to keep the drawers closed. The toilet is kept in place with a latch but can be rolled out for easier use when the van is parked. 6/10

Another view from the side door. Basically everything that's fabric here (mattress covers, ceiling panels, curtains, window covers) I sewed myself and all of the wooden furniture I built myself. 7/10

Safety first! A fire extinguisher and a combo smoke/carbon dioxide/carbon monoxide detector. (Seriously, sleeping in a van can be dangerous if you're not prepared) 8/10
