Another weird thing — I'm with other people whom I don't know and am about to compile information about and other (sic!) anti-war (!!) nazi-supporters in the during . (Sounds familiar? @drq and other "good russians" who are "against the war"?).

It may look really awkward for people who look over my shoulder into my screen.

@drq tagging people and people. How do you deal with cringe or worse while writing in public?

@hexedpress well, the materials I need to research cover encyclopaedically:

1. White russians spying for nazis
2. A *lot* of antisemitism

If I would spot someone reading about some right-wing newsletter from 1939 and make notes, I would assume that this person is as far as a leftie as one can imagine. But I want to write my big bads inspired by the actual and very interesting intelligence / counterintelligence stories of the .

3. In general, doing hobby stuff in public like designing (or playing) Magic cards; designing (or playing) TTRPG feels, at least to me, marginalised just enough for it to be considered "cringe" :)

@hexedpress I mean, obviously it *isn't cringe* in fact, I just feel ashamed / shy doing it.

@jonn I got you. Honestly, if I saw someone reading your RRA search material at a cafe, I’d be more intrigued than put off. I know I still get pangs of shame that are echos from my younger days when I kept the hobby a secret. I always figure people at a cafe are mostly into their own stuff anyway.

@hexedpress ended up being too shy / embarrassed to do it on the train and instead did some programming / sys adm / startup stuff.

But thank you so much for responding. I *almost* managed thanks to your encouragement <3
