Started campaign of #Undaunted #Stalingrad.
I'm playing as the bad guys against the worse guys.
In the October battle for the city center, I failed to hold Pavlov's house[1], so the battle was pushed South.
Three rifle squads were lost, replenished with the reservists, but two of the surviving squads gained additional equipment and battle experience.
As the battle dragged south, a deployed sniper managed to drag the opposing fire onto her as the garrison stopped a daring push by the german soldiers, routing their riflemen immediately.
Under heavy concealment, rallied by the initiative of the field officers who got berated by the higher ranking officers, no doubt, my garrison and the snipers managed to pin and route the other riflemen group, making German push impossible.
It was a flawless victory.
As the victory increases the morale, I'm nonetheless concerned about the fact that the core of my army is significantly weaker than the Germans, so it'll be very hard to go on the offence any time soon.
Perhaps, a strategic retreat is in order even if Stavka offers a push under order 227?..
