@jebba I used lemmy when i first joined from the #redditblackout I then created a mastodon account. and was chatting away. I kept seeing good stuff about kbin and never tried it till today. OMFG it's amazing. its reddit on steroids. you can create post and microblog! Post like reddit. microblog like twitter/mastodon. I love the fediverse
@jonn Wait, what, seriously???
@whitey lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.ml have the same dns config, using some obscure "freenom" dns.
They used to share ip address before fediversetips has called them out. Now it's different if you ping.
But most importantly! Go suck a communist cock, mate. I said "use kbin or fork lemmy". Don't want to fork? Use existing foss codebase made by nice people.
@jonn Question from noob - where does Lemmy end? I get we avoid lemmy main domain. What about other domains like slrpnk.net? Is it still Lemmy or is it a legit fork?
@kursis it's not a fork because the developers can, st any point, insert code that will show a dancing lenin mummy on all the instances that upgrade their software, which everyone should. :(
@jonn Ok, got it. Not a separate instance but something less separated. Sounds awful, except the part about dancing Lenin mummy. That shit is awesome! Make it live recording with the real thing?
@jonn
Is kbin a legit fork?
