OK, another long post where I write up my experiences in using a #Mastodon account to interact with #Lemmy instances and content.

If you copy and paste this URL into the search (rather than clicking on it), you'll be able to read it the full post (minus rich text formatting and inline images) in your Mastodon client.

Screenshot of this attached. Read more opens in a sidebar.

You can also follow my Lemmy account @boris@news.cosocial.ca directly.

@boris @boris if you know how to defederate lemmy by default, do share.

@jonn I'm not sure what you're asking.

There is a built in "blocked instances" comma separated field in the Lemmy admin interface where you can block servers.

Defederating from the Mastodon side would be just adding in the domain name, I assume.

Let me know if that helps. I'm a #LemmyAdmin beginner :)

@boris I'm asking if it's easy to detect any and all lemmy protocol messages and disallow them in mastodon.

Lemmy is dormant malware made by actual bigoted communists.

Lemmygrad.ml and lemmy.ml were moved to different servers since 2022, but they still use the same obscure DNS server. Obviously, whois is anonymised, but the evidence is overwhelming.
