Russia is preparing a terrorist attack on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, the biggest nuclear power plant in Europe.
How is your day? #nucleardisaster #nuclearwar #standwithukraine # #Ukraine
@dana This should be what people should be talking about, much bigger news than some rich guys dying in a sub.
@toni I know. We should be organising mass protests across the globe but with whom? No one gives a shit. #nucleardisaster #nuclearwar #standwithukraine # #Ukraine
@toni @dana I send you rays of positivity! I think that pandemic was announced too late and waived too early, but the numbers seem to be genuinely way better. I am really surprised that people didn't keep wearing masks. Sometimes, but not often, I'm the only person in a crowded area wearing a mask here in the UK. However almost never is there over 10% of people wearing masks in one crowded area.
It seems like people don't learn.
@jonn@social.doma.dev @dana@blahaj.zone The only reason I know other people, other than @dana and myself, still wear them, is because I see people like you online also say you do!
@jonn@social.doma.dev @dana@blahaj.zone We are still setting up, but you should be able to follow the lemmy group by searching for this url in Calckey/mastodon: https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/c/stop_russia or using this fedi handle: !stop_russia@lemmy.blahaj.zone We are just setting up, so other than the detailed group description, there isn't any content just yet, but we welcome 'early adopters' to help get things moving...
@jonn@social.doma.dev @dana@blahaj.zone I am aware but lemmy.blahaj.zone is run by the same two trans women that run blahaj.zone and not the dev team behind the software. They are also setting up a kbin instance, but right now it has issues and is not ready for production use. As I understand it current queues its fediverse postings in RAM and loses them if the server has to reboot, so some kbin posts never make it to the wider fediverse. A serious flaw. Probably less of an issue if the server is stable, but still technically a problem if we want this group to work.
@jonn@social.doma.dev @toni@blahaj.zone We could have a mirror/sibling group on kbin. It might be a good idea to have a backup.
@dana @jonn@social.doma.dev More groups are better than one. 1 mirror is enough, but groups with slightly different focuses, run by different people, but which recommend each other, is also good. That way all the eggs aren't in one basket.
@jonn@social.doma.dev @dana@blahaj.zone I don't unfortunately. I live pretty remotely, and the fact that we have a pandemic raging and no one takes precautions anymore makes me unwilling to travel.
