That moment, when the opponent double-chump-blocks your 5/6 creature and then nothing happens for 2 or 3 seconds and they finally hover over your "Kutzil, Malamut Exemplar", realizing they are not allowed to play their combat trick during my turn...

@BrackmeisterMTG btw, you only play Limited, right? I'm searching for a spike who is my level-ish, with whom I can practice for the tournaments.

@jonn I do enjoy Limited, but when it's not a free event like now I tend to stick to Quick Drafts (and maybe one or two Sealed at the beginning of a new set), with only a few Premier Drafts now and then. And there I often realize my ability to "read the table" isn't really that great. 🤣

@BrackmeisterMTG ah I see. If you play on Magic: Online and want to try to go to tournaments, we should practice hah.

@jonn No, I doubt I'll ever try MTGO. Even without it there's already too much stuff I would want to do during my spare time. 😄

I did play somewhat competitively at tournaments in paper during the second half of the 90s, but that was quite expensive, took much time and travel and was quite a hassle to organize my collection.

Looking at how much more complex cards are nowadays (and I'm not even talking about Alchemy cards with their wall of text), I'm pretty sure I couldn't handle the board state and triggers without the help of the Arena client. 😜

@BrackmeisterMTG the trick is to ignore the text on the "newspaper cards" and kill them on sight. :D

And I'm only half-joking.
