@stancarey is there some deduction to deduct along in noir genre? Never read it, even though I'm a huge fan of mystery.

@jonn Depends on the writer and the work, but there is generally some. Not like Agatha Christie or Arthur Conan Doyle – there's more emphasis on mood, repartee, and the realistic chaos of underground life, rather than being a puzzle with clues. But it does invite one into the detective's shoes to try and figure it out as they do.

@stancarey understood. Btw, idk if you like cosy crime. If you do – Anthony Horowitz does crazy cool things with the genre, as well as writing absolutely "honest" (solvable) stories.
