@SeaFury I parrot-sitted for a friend. It was a rescue parrot and we made friends with the animal! Even though she was traumatised and it was rare that she let me pet her, she would fly to me and hang out on my laptop as I worked. I think that kindness transcends species.

@jonn Pete is a rescue parrot too. I’ve had him for 3 years. He does notnlike hands so no pats. But he likes snuggles and sits on my shoulder a lot. He also flies to me. And knows some tricks. Parrots really are a sensitive animal.

@SeaFury with the parrot I was hanging out with, we would shake hands sometimes. It's so nice that yours is a rescue. I only ever rescued a hedgehog and released them in a couple of weeks back to the forest, when they were healthy enough to function on their own. I was both happy and extremely sad to see the hedgehog burrow into a pile of autumn leaves!

I want to be rich enough some day to live in a flat where I can afford to have an adopted parrot.

@jonn I am fortunate to rent a house 😍 Birds are easier to keep if you are renting.
