When Labour ministers start bleating about the “moral case” of making welfare cuts (deepening Austerity in UK) we know they are NOT on the side of ordinary working people and the most vulnerable. We’ve now had Austerity for 15+ years, neoliberal economic decline and cuts since 1979 and life in the UK has worsened. The “moral case” is to end poverty in uk - not to buy bombs and allow the excessively rich to hoard even more wealth.

@TenebrisNox uh I mean, you kinda have to buy bombs, better yet – manufacture those. These things aren't related.

Do you know what was up in this country a bit less than a hundred years ago by chance?

@jonn 1920s? 1930s? Tremendous poverty and depression partly caused by paying off the debts of the ruling classes wars? We REALLY don't want more bombs made at home or abroad.

@jonn @TenebrisNox you can both be correct.
We can live with less poverty and still defend ourselves & the weak. Indeed, they kind of go hand-in-hand.

@Dss @TenebrisNox what do you mean "both"? I think that we must unfuckup social inequality and even solve cost of living crisis! (Gasps)

I would simply prefer for folks in Norwich and Aberdeen not to have to learn russian. 🙂

@jonn @TenebrisNox Exactly.
We can be both secure and not in poverty. Protecting the rich only isn't working. They just like to pander to the Russian strongman, as we also now see them ponder to trunp.
But they should recall what's happened to so many very rich Russians... Rights for all, otherwise none of us have any.

@jonn Ahh that old slur: “by being anti-war you are in fact a traitor and in the pay of our enemies”. Thank you. And goodnight.
