A UN report has stated that the RSF and allied militias have committed “staggering”levels of sexual violence during Sudan’s ongoing civil war.
The report alleged that victims have ranged between 8-75 in age, with widespread incidents of rape and sexual slavery observed.
Many of the cases were documented in the West Darfur region, where RSF troops regularly target Masalit civilians with ethnic killings. - Popular Front

I decided to try something new and create my very first #bivariate #choropleth map! The two variables I’ve mapped for 52 African countries are the 2023 #WorldPressFreedomIndex scores by #ReportersWithoutBorders and the 2022 #HumanDevelopmentIndex by the UN Development Programme.
Unfortunately São Tomé and Príncipe didn’t have a WPFI score while there’s no HDI for Somalia. Of course Western Sahara had no data too.
