Instead of today's #dungeon23...
My character facing off against a wyvern in the moors.
We had to put two of them down to retrieve lost artifacts. 14 HD dealt with by two retainers, a level 4 strong and a level 1 wise.
Almost died to crocodiles while fishing on our way back to town too... 😃
Good session! Love #whitehack system and #nsr play style!
@bluetyson ahhh I want to learn more! I've superficially researched meso-American cultures for #IcyNSR starter deck to make sure that I'm getting inspired by more than just European cultures and designing for everyone.
@bluetyson ...and done some OK fishing with a net. So he figured he'd do it again. Rolled a 20 over 17 constitution and 1 on d6 for encounters. So it was ruled collaboratively that I "netted" a croc, who pounced, and I proceeded to plopping down from the log.
Then, as my character was screaming for help, he needed to survive for 3 rounds. What I loved about this compared to some other systems I played, was that unprepared powerful character almost died to a croc attack. Because...
@bluetyson ...he was not prepared for this. And if not for my buddies, there was 0 chance my character would've survived.
I had to make a save vs special combat moves or die, for instance after I got grappled by the creature.
So yea, "nothing at stake" may be the real reason why people hate travel in mainstream ttrpgs. 🙂
