@chrisschmitz

Everything they do reminds me of russia in Ukraine—refusing to believe it has a right to exist, constant barrages with no military targets, just destruction of people and the things that make up their lives. But most of all, how many times have we heard use of the word *pogrom* in the past week? It’s the same horrific behavior perpetrated over an entire century, and allowed rise again in the unspeakable acts seen in both places.

Maybe it's a little too early, but I'm quite excited. My next big project: 2d6 Tales, a #hackable, #opensource, #generic #ttrpg system.

Big as in "As much love and care I can give it" big.

Wish me luck.

@LALegault haha you seem to think that Bibi is older than he is 🤣

You have no idea how brutal this campaign has been… They put everything they had into this, all their power, state institutions, state media, all their hate, lies, piles of money. And they still lost.

They pissed off people so much that there was a record turnout, so many young people went to vote.

No one expected it would look like this, polling stations weren't prepared. Some people voted at 2-3am, 6 hours after the deadline (!), after waiting in queues for hours in the cold…

It's official, we did it! The center/center-right/left coalition has 248/460 seats, PiS is on the way out! 🇵🇱🎉😄

Just to give you an idea: imagine Nov 2020 in the US, but after 8 years under Trump's rule instead of 4…

Ton of work now to do and they will fight it on every step. They still have a president (until '25) who will veto everything, and they've locked their people in all institutions. It'll be a long battle. But Poland is back!

@richlv holy smokes! I didn't even notice that we've come full circle! I forgot your initial suggestion and said "shitheads" because that's what you describe. So yeah, it seems not just feasible, but perhaps a **correct** way to denote that kind of people!

@mxhdroom sorry for tagging you so much, but yeah, it's very easy to say "oh, it was a hostile takeover of the country by hamas". But yeah, no.

If you are retooting stuff like this toot by @chiefgyk3d, you should be aware that

@kirill sorry for a bit of a tangled text. The premise is that "kremlin was treating all of the opposition mass media in russia the same way, thus applied the same strategies to all of those (admittedly, lenta was taken over, novaya gazeta has suffered a series of physical removals, so the tactics are clearly varied, but as far as modern tactics go, I think it's safe to assume that they are roughly uniform). Thus, looking at analogous situations in other big russian mass media could shine some light on the situation you report on. So yeah, that's why I'm talking mostly about meduza there. :)

@LALegault whose democratically elect government, then turned autocracy, is at war which it started on Saturday, October 7th.

This shouldn't have to be said. Majority of the adult population of palestine has voted for and celebrated the Oct 7th massacre.

See, when cities get bombed in shaping operations or airport hits, we all remember that russians are people too, but we also understand that the needs of defensive war warrant a military response. Obviously strikes like the one you reported about are unacceptable and condemnable, but it has nothing to do with palestinians being "people too", and everything to do with the norms and traditions of waging war, where civilians have to have a safe humanitarian corridor to evacuate, which Israel seems to be failing to provide.

cc @mxhdroom

@anakita I'm very happy when that happens to me because my first language is russian, the language of the occupants 😢

@amy I may have contributed to it a *little bit* by grumbling about forgetfulness together with mastodon . Could be up to +5 perhaps, but likely +1/+1, based on the amount of interactions I normally have.
