I successfully migrated my NixOS install to a root tmpfs with impermanence and home-manager.

This mean my root file system is temporary, and I have to whitelist which directories in my home or system should be persistent, so I control exactly how clean it will stay.

The setup was not really straightforward, I think instead of making an nth blog post about this, I'll try to improve the upstream documentation.

“New billionaire minted every 26 hours, as inequality contributes to the death of one person every four seconds

The world’s ten richest men more than doubled their fortunes from $700 billion to $1.5 trillion —at a rate of $15,000 per second or $1.3 billion a day— during the first two years of a pandemic that has seen the incomes of 99 percent of humanity fall and over 160 million more people forced into poverty.” – Oxfam

Got some oily residue from a dishwasher liquid in the eye. Washed quite some, including eye drops and I have a weird vision right now... It's ok sharpness-wise, but brightness cause dispersion, and nothing helps. Very annoying... Hope it'll go away by itself.

Yesterday I started a work to harden services on #NixOS using systemd features.

First patch has been accepted and I'm told I can continue this way.

Thermald service is no longer able to do networking :flan_cool: :flan_cool:

If this topic interests you, I started a discussion about a wider implementation to ease the hardening work discourse.nixos.org/t/hardenin

There’s nothing like seeing the nightmare futures dreamt up by sociopaths to spur you into action even on those days when you might feel like you just want to stay in bed with the covers over your head. Nope, can’t do that. Or else the fuckers win.

I just beat the #Warzone2100 campaign for the first time ever.

Who would've thought I'd finish a commercial 3D RTS I played in the late 90s over 20 years later on a BSD machine as a FOSS game…

Still the only commercial 3D game I know that not only had its code, but also all of its assets open-sourced.

And still the game with the biggest tech tree I know. ^-^

We have closed the loop.

The launcher can now assemble tal files on the fly, you can use Left to write #uxn programs, Nasu to make graphics, Dexe to include them into your projects.

That means you can have a complete workstation on a NDS, GBA, Playdate, etc..

Thanks to everyone who helped to put this together.

Has Microsoft made a single product that you enjoy using?

@margodeweerdt oh wow. Your works are really inspired! I wonder what would it take to get you to collab on an OSR tabletop roleplaying game system some time Q4'22/Q1'23. From my side any form of compensation can be discussed — cash, barter, making software in return, profit shares (default colab. strategy for the cooperative I'm in).

Posted my last Instagram post yesterday. I’m deleting my Instagram account on Monday. After a period of time where I was scared it might cost me some freelance work, I finally made the decision. I don’t agree with the system, the company behind it. I don’t want to contribute to it anymore. I don’t want to post my work on it anymore. I’m done. Grateful to all the people that followed my work on it, sometimes even bought something in my shop. But it's time to move on.

So apparently Humble Bundle decided that it would stop supporting macOS and Linux in two weeks, leaving two weeks for people to download their game for those platforms, not getting updates for them anymore, and also shutting down ability to download from the site, forcing you to go through their new Windows only launcher.

So I'll take this opportunity to make a casual reminder that there is nothing humble about humble bundle anymore.

This is more than just a bespoke guide though.

We also have a blog, and it's federated, so you can keep up to date with fediverse news without leaving your home feed. Categories, RSS, Tags and other standard blog features included.

Anyone can submit content to our blog, though we do curate submissions.
