Boost please British folk. Woods here are FULL of death caps. Amanita phalloides. In decades of picking I have never seen as many as here on Cambridge today. It not even usually common here. It's brutally poisonous, please share a warning to avoid it #mushtodon #fungi #mushrooms

I'm very upset right now. Submitted an appeal to .

Seems like are tagging savelife.in.ua as "nudity / porn"? Wtf.

@normis well, then let's think about the unfolding conflict in isolation! Combined warfare by hamas, hundreds dead, tens (if not hundreds) abducted.

It's war and Israel is defending.

@normis ok then how are Jewish people guilty? They were granted a territory by British Empire, which was owned by British Empire as the result of them beating Ottoman Empire in WW1.

Also, look at how war in 1948 was commencing. The motto of the Arab League was "throw Jews into the sea". A bit fucked up. Like at no point in any of the conflict, across the conflicts, Israel was actually the aggressor.

I think it's a sad situation, I don't think Israel should have existed, but after the Arab countries tried to destroy it and lost the war, it's fair to say that whatever territorial expansion that happened *as the result of the military victories in defensive wars* is fair.

You wouldn't be too upset if Ukraine will choose to take Belgorod Oblast now, would you?

@amayer thanks for sanity-checking me. After normis has sent that Vox video I've actually went and read about the Palestinian civil war in 1947, which has preceded the first Israel war in 1948, seems like if there's someone "guilty", it's Brits and the crime is "unethical decolonization".

@jonn @thomasfuchs @normis Same, really. I was always sympathetic to Palestine and critical of Israel. But today Hamas helped me make up my mind. How can Israel tolerate such a threat at - or actually inside - its borders? Of course they have to retaliate. And of course civilians in Gaza will suffer. They should thank Hamas.

@normis @thomasfuchs 🤔 ņe vsjo tak adnaznačno. Yeah, heard that one.

Imagine shit like this happening in Latvia! Say, pskov paramilitary bands grabbing people of Latgale and dragging them by force into ruzzian territory.

Would you suggest a restrained or unrestrained approach on the mission to recover our fellow citizens from captivity?

Note that hamas or hypothetical pskovite forces bein paramilitary is key in this question.

Again, not a fan of Israel, but they're doing what they can and handling the tough situation appropriately to the scale of the invasion.

We are at war.

There is only one war.

You can pretend that you’re not involved and that it doesn’t affect you, and that you can afford to ignore it.

By doing so, you enable the forces of doom.

Or you can acknowledge the fact, and put whatever bit of spare energy you can manage towards my side that’s fighting for life on the planet.

For some, that means full-time activism and pouring massive financial resources into the cause.

For others, maybe that just means being a #fella

My point is that we need to acknowledge the fact, spread the word, and act accordingly.

"Climate activists are sometimes depicted as dangerous radicals. But the truly dangerous radicals are the countries that are increasing the production of fossil fuels." Antonio Guterres, UN secretary-general.

@thomasfuchs ah yes, the civilians. I was kinda with you until today (after I moved to London and fell under the influence of palestinian propaganda).

Sadly for that take, we have videos of what the "civilians" are doing to the hostages hamas took today.

Gladly for that take, with the amount of hostages taken, it's gonna be hard to bomb poor civilians!

Don't get me right, I don't like Israel, but yeah, hamas obviously has an overwhelming popular support in gaza and they are the aggressor and the war criminal here. Palestinian civilians have ways to contact mossad and prove their dedication to civilian life by helping the defenders. Just like russians in russia. Calling for restraint in the Israeli response is siding with iran and russia. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Yesterday I recorded my best ever #GPS track. It was the "100 bridges" walk in #Leiden: a very quirky tangled route over (yes) 100 bridges, in 20 km
