It's almost impossible to get a W for palestinian propaganda these days, there's just no way around the atrocities committed on Oct 7th, Oct 8th. However, one of the biggest freebie that they've got from most of the western media is the label of the invasion as "terrorism". It was a combined warfare operation, involving MRLS, mortars, naval, air and ground incursions. The fact that their combatants wears flip flops doesn't mean that they don't weild automatic weapons. The fact that there were uncountable war crimes committed during these two days doesn't mean it is just terrorism.

It's war.

@ladybuginthemug@infosec.exchange btw, if you read the JSLA statement, please be aware that there's a ton of disinfo there. For example what they refer to the "massacre of a peaceful demonstration" is prevention of the hamas provocations at the border. Here's what hamas themselves were saying about it: drive.google.com/file/d/11JEQG

Opposing Israel in this particular conflict, past Oct 7th, is opposing the right to defend, siding with iran and russia. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm puzzled by yours on this topic.

Nobody has to be a fan of Israel to support their retaliation against hamas. Just like there are many people who weren't fans of Ukraine who are now ready to fight, volunteer, etc. for it. Win the war first, figure out the "whatabouts" later.

@timnitGebru oh, some pictures [made by palestinians] from the recent days will indeed haunt those mourning, not cheering until the end of their lives.

The ones with beheaded Jewish children, mostly.

There is no collective responsibility, but there is war, started with no declaration by the palestinian combatants on the ground, the sea, and the air. Also televised, mind you.

The Russian Olympic Committee was suspended by the IOC for breaching the Olympic Charter by incorporating sports bodies in four regions in eastern Ukraine

Part of a tiling of the hyperbolic plane where 7 equilateral triangles meet at each vertex, wrapped isometrically onto a surface with curvature K=–1:
z = ±ξ |E(arcsin(cosh s) | m)–E(m)|
ρ = √[ξ^2–1] cosh s

E is elliptic integral
ξ is max radius
m = 1–1/ξ^2
s is dist from waist

Straight from playbook.

"You don't need to see Ukrainian nazis to believe that they are there".

I tried so hard to empathise with pro-palestinian people, I even have a textual evidence of me discussing that with my Jewish friends, but it's so hard to feel empathy towards, let alone associate with people who post arab propaganda and ask their readers not to make evidence-based judgements.

What's especially fucked up them comparing the ratko mladich's unprovoked massacre with retaliation strikes for a documented (not least by hamas and palestinians themselves) massacre. By that logic, the author of these toots should side with serbs during the retaliation that was happening in Yugoslavian war.

I can't even.

It's scary to see that the organizations that I felt represent quintessential evil, that killed , that facilitated useless mass surveilance, that robbed "the people" of dignity, turn out to be the allies of the , even if temporary, whereas the organizations that I felt represented quintessential good, that facilitated surveilance avoidance, that gave us all options to talk securely about whatever subject we want to discuss, fall to dreadful actors like , , .

The most fucked up thing is that there are a lot of fellow lefties who are blind to this effect. Women who support killing women by the "guardians of the revolution" in , mothers who support slaying Jewish children in Israel, social justice advocate who support slamming with rockets just because they have read a book by a guy who never made anything real in his life () and heard that was also cool.

When you read about the Cambridge Five and you think "what a bunch of fools, how could they have fallen for the soviet narrative?", look around. Take a walk in London past UCL. Count the leninist posters featuring, I kid you not, Vladimir Ilyitch Ullianov-Lenin (I bet the stupid fucks don't even know his full name, hah). Authoritarian brain-washing is very strong and will be strong, no matter which authoritarian state we're talking about. Brainwashing is a pillar of survival of such states, thus it will always be ahead of the Western propaganda.

There are new Cambridge Fives, and possibly in the organizations that you or I have donated to before.

Finally, this idiocy of the left only pours more water on the right-wing watermill.

The least we can do right now, is to TEMPORARILY stop donating to the far-left orgs and orgs like @eff, stop relaying opinions of or mentioning russian agents like Snowden, actively isolate iran, hamas, russia supporters and track them with best effort. Knowing to be careful around them or feeding them disinformation, can literally save lives.

The war is in everyday life, don't underestimate your impact.

@lzg why not? Would be a shame for the minority of palestinians who don't support HAMAS to die en masse.

Given that Israelis are clearly planning land operation of retaliation, I think that it's not only logical, but moral to evacuate. I'm puzzled Egypt didn't offer civilians a way to evacuate, ngl.

My experience (sadly, considerable by now) with coordinating evacuations shows that 24h is plenty to evacuate, especially if the refugees are assisted by someone with a vehicle.

Day 597 of my 3 day war. For two days in a row I have lost ships in a land war to a country without a navy.

I remain a master strategist.

@jaredwhite I was with you up until "we need to put artistry over capital".

What your're describing with "intentionally easy to learn and require minimal maintenance" means that making, using and maintaining software is accessible. Making art, by definition, requires a refined and vast skillset!
