Just to make sure I piss the lefties and righties off equally: I consider #Israel to be one of the very few nationalistic and fascist *democratic* states. I'm happy that it's a democracy and that there is a chance for change.

That said, you don't have to be a fan of a country to support defensive war. Same goes for any country in the world that defends against massive atrocities. Remember, hundreds of people who happened to be in Israel have died on Oct 7th alone.

If you understand the concept of #NotJustPutin, you probably should understand the concept of #NotJustHamas?

My "you don't have to see it to believe it"[1] friends, somehow asked to see photos and videos of the atrocities committed by the palestinian combatants this war.

At a risk of getting defederated for content policy violation, I'll politely defer to the channel of, say, Yigal Levin over at Telegram.

I'll just attach one video which should comply with the content policies because it's not graphic, but horrible nonetheless. It depicts the reaction of "regular palestinians" to one of the hostages taken into the country of #palestine. Flogging ensued.

It's funny because I can demonstrate transcripts of me speaking in supporting #palestine pre-Oct 7th.

I think that fellow lefties just don't understand the difference between wartime and normality. In this particular war, the defenders have to be victorious first first and then we can talk about borders, autonomy, etc.

But also, I perceive the context of this war in the context of the war that affects me personally, the war in #Ukraine. Where there is the axis of #russia #iran #china #hungary against the alliance of #ukraine #USA #UK #EU. #Hamas supporters are clearly my enemies in the war that affects me.
