I use flakes for my #NixOS configs. Sadly Hydra doesn't support updating inputs of flakes. I hacked up flake-compat to allow Hydra to supply the inputs: github.com/edolstra/flake-comp

Now I have daily builds of my systems!

@Jorsh good job! My grandpa died from this addiction. Slowly and painfully. Wasn't fun for the family either. Great job on recovery, you're not just helping yourself, but also those who care about you. <3 <3 <3

Today, I have 9 years of sobriety from alcohol. Without the support of my mum and sister, the recovery center and the various meetings and various groups I've attended over the years, I would not be alive today.

If you know someone suffering from an addiction of any sort, please, offer compassion and support, not condemnation. Even the strongest and wisest can fall prey to addiction. A little kindness can go a long way.

2022 feels like it was a hundred years ago, but it also feels like yesterday.

When they say that there are moments that split life into "before" and "after", they fail to mention that while you're on the "after" side, it sort of all mashes together into one long nightmare.

I am certain that freedom will win and the evil shall be crushed.

Hmm @timClicks, do you take suggestions for video topics? The only thing that prevents me from writing exclusively and the reason why I keep reaching for is fault tolerance and capability of doing offensive programming. See an explanation with some code snippets in my talk[1].

Is there something similar for Rust? How would one approach building "FT Rust"?

@packetsnorter also, fuck and . Facebook is known to have served russian government, so is musk. I actually wrote about it here: social.doma.dev/@jonn/11168018

@packetsnorter I just hope they do something with the MITMed traffic!

I'm not talking about censorship, I'm talking about the same thing you're talking about — providing services to russian government. Last time I checked it's kind of a no-no. Hope they'll get in trouble 🙇

Lol, is serving propaganda machine. Who could have thought. I hope they at least MITM the fuckers 🤞

@Texan_Reverend hi, Eric, sorry for spamming, I just want to say that the interactions like these, especially given that I'm sending messages from my own server to your server, make me step back and reflect upon the value has in the quality of our lives. Truly, a small internet long lost.

P.S.
Ordered 100 masks, thank you again!

@jonn @luckytran I totally understand the frustration of local shops ditching good options and not entirely trusting Amazon due to counterfeit concerns.
Fortunately, the UK has an excellent online resource:
thefacemaskstore.co.uk

They even stock my top pick respirator - the Dräger 1920 FFP2/1950 N95:
thefacemaskstore.co.uk/drager-
(Unfortunately, the Small is out of stock.)

Of course they also have the ever popular 3M Aura:
thefacemaskstore.co.uk/3M-9320
(Plus several other varieties of Aura.)

@luckytran it's unbelievable that in the UK has stopped stocking good masks and are asking us to pay a ton for surgical masks with quite loose grip. I don't trust amazon to buy masks either... A bit annoying.

@Daojoan there's an OK article "Tolerance is not a Moral Precept". Tl;dr — tolerance is a social contract rather than anything else.

@timClicks btw your Youtube shorts are the only shorts I watch. I really like them, even though I don't like the format generally!

@timClicks maybe it's non-technical enough? I don't know. I also am not a huge fan of the opening music. For our videos we were always doing a very short neutral sound effect. But idk.
