@virtulis assuming you're working around the dependency problems.

Just to make sure I piss the lefties and righties off equally: I consider to be one of the very few nationalistic and fascist *democratic* states. I'm happy that it's a democracy and that there is a chance for change.

That said, you don't have to be a fan of a country to support defensive war. Same goes for any country in the world that defends against massive atrocities. Remember, hundreds of people who happened to be in Israel have died on Oct 7th alone.

If you understand the concept of , you probably should understand the concept of ?

My "you don't have to see it to believe it"[1] friends, somehow asked to see photos and videos of the atrocities committed by the palestinian combatants this war.

At a risk of getting defederated for content policy violation, I'll politely defer to the channel of, say, Yigal Levin over at Telegram.

I'll just attach one video which should comply with the content policies because it's not graphic, but horrible nonetheless. It depicts the reaction of "regular palestinians" to one of the hostages taken into the country of . Flogging ensued.

It's really funny to see -supporters pounding the mentions. My favorite is this one: aus.social/@Winter/11123107297

It's funny because I can demonstrate transcripts of me speaking in supporting pre-Oct 7th.

I think that fellow lefties just don't understand the difference between wartime and normality. In this particular war, the defenders have to be victorious first first and then we can talk about borders, autonomy, etc.

But also, I perceive the context of this war in the context of the war that affects me personally, the war in . Where there is the axis of against the alliance of . supporters are clearly my enemies in the war that affects me.

Got my new poster hung up. (I designed it using Inkscape with a lot of filter effects.)

It's almost impossible to get a W for palestinian propaganda these days, there's just no way around the atrocities committed on Oct 7th, Oct 8th. However, one of the biggest freebie that they've got from most of the western media is the label of the invasion as "terrorism". It was a combined warfare operation, involving MRLS, mortars, naval, air and ground incursions. The fact that their combatants wears flip flops doesn't mean that they don't weild automatic weapons. The fact that there were uncountable war crimes committed during these two days doesn't mean it is just terrorism.

It's war.

@ladybuginthemug@infosec.exchange btw, if you read the JSLA statement, please be aware that there's a ton of disinfo there. For example what they refer to the "massacre of a peaceful demonstration" is prevention of the hamas provocations at the border. Here's what hamas themselves were saying about it: drive.google.com/file/d/11JEQG

Opposing Israel in this particular conflict, past Oct 7th, is opposing the right to defend, siding with iran and russia. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm puzzled by yours on this topic.

Nobody has to be a fan of Israel to support their retaliation against hamas. Just like there are many people who weren't fans of Ukraine who are now ready to fight, volunteer, etc. for it. Win the war first, figure out the "whatabouts" later.

@timnitGebru oh, some pictures [made by palestinians] from the recent days will indeed haunt those mourning, not cheering until the end of their lives.

The ones with beheaded Jewish children, mostly.

There is no collective responsibility, but there is war, started with no declaration by the palestinian combatants on the ground, the sea, and the air. Also televised, mind you.
