I was aware that they still make music, but I stopped following them after a string of pop-folk albums, I had but a mild interest in.
So I've looked at what are they up these days, and it seems like they help teenagers, young adults and others in a more direct way than just with producing quality art.
They've started a podcast for those who struggle to cope with death or who want to know how to cope with death. Here it is: https://art19.com/shows/tunng-presents-the-dead-club-podcast
I'm not sure how good is it, but I'll give it a listen since existential fear goes hand in hand with my cognition.
Here are critically-acclaimed #folktronica hall-of-famers #Tunng in their more-electronic-than-popfolk days of glory:

This song is very special for me. It became my "new favorite" after I've decided to obtain their full discography. I used to be hooked on their "Comments of Inner Chorus" for years since its release.
"Good Arrows" in general is a strong album, but this song resonated with me in part because I could easily imagine it being played in a on Mar Sara, or a from a Space Construction Vehicle's radio, which was a fictional place I was rather invested in around that time with #BlizzardEntertainment still not openly whoring itself to fascist regimes and promoting critical and rebellious attitude.
Anyway, it made me feel like I'm "not here", which is something that I needed quite a lot back then.
I guess it makes perfect sense that back then they called the genre of their music SciFi-Prog-Folk.
It's 2 weeks since I joined Mastodon and I still like it. I guess, now is the time to introduce myself to you!
I'm a guy from Europe, beginning 40's, was always fascinated of computers. I started off with my C64 and soon coded my own little text based game in BASIC.
Using Linux as main OS for years but I'm far from being an expert.
Studying forensic engineering while having a full-time job (computer stuff too) and working with archaeologists in my (always short) spare time 👋 🙂
I don't want to mirror tweets in #mastodon, so I guess I'll focus on hobbies and a bit of freeform here and leave twitter for more professional communication, like it used to be for me around 2012—2014 (bar debugging rage threads).
Also, masto feels just warmer, friendlier and less stressful than twitter, so I don't feel mildly uncomfortable sharing my life here.
What would you like to hear from me here? What aren't you interested in?
Remember the times of small Internet? Turns out it's more than nostalgia.
