Wow, I didn't get ill after going to crowded places (while wearing a mask, of course) over winter holidays etc., but now I was basically chilling at home and got ill. I think I started washing hands less thoroughly and started touching my face again, and it makes all the difference.

Feb 1st supporting is an (sorry, mom) spell "Liquid Manipulation".

It was way harder to come up with interesting semantics for it, but actually writing stuff for OSE is so much easier than for .

games, as opposed to games have wordiness in their DNA, and writing wordy texts is a breeze!

Also, don't worry, I remember that I owe January some content, I'll publish more backlog soon. If someone wants to run an session, feel free to reach out to me for all the rule cards in one place and in a hyperlinked format. It's rules-distributed (kinda rules light, but you can hand out the rules on demand to your players, making them the lawyers of some marginal mechanics they asked for to have fun), crunchy, tactical and ready to play.

You know the drill by now. I don't like talking about Black history. Americans know Black history. I want to talk about white American history. In other words, racism, and the erasure of both positive achievements of, and injustices suffered by, non-white people. That's what people don't know.

Try this: Ask your white US friends what the statue of liberty celebrates.

Now ask your Black friends. Or French folk of any color.

Thinking further on this, hosting in places like Iceland, Finland, Romania, maybe Bulgaria (still?), etc. can be a way to differentiate your server from others.

It's a hard problem, in that in the end, you're still on a corporate / military network.

I'm not saying it is a solution, but it may be worth considering hosting in countries like Iceland, that have more protections (see: Icelandic Modern Media Initiative).

No matter what the hardware is, you should still have backups, as they can just power off your server. :)

I don't know Digital Ocean's physical network offhand.

Looking up DigitalOcean, they are publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange. NYSE:DOCN for search.

The largest institutional investor, located in NYC, has very little about themselves on their website:

Other major investors include the usual Blackrock, Vanguard, JP Morgan Chase, etc.

Denial of Service (DoS) attacks against Mastodon servers raise the bar on the workload and technical skills of the people maintaining the servers.

This can lead to consolidation of servers. For example, CloudFlare could wind up hosting many of the larger Mastodon instances, as they get attacked. Following this path, the DoS attackers "win".

Perhaps best if instead of consolidation, more federation is used, and more distribted servers are set up. More techs can learn to host. :)

It's funny how white-washing pro-russian mass-media like @meduza_en clashes with white-washing individual russians online.

Take leak analysis for example. There's a guy on the twitter thread who claims that he saw the slurs in 2009 and they're deleted from the codebase by now. However, @meduza_en demonstrates that the code leaked is fresh.
